A student delegation from Serbia, which planned to visit the “Jasenovac Memorial Center” and lay flowers in honor of the innocent victims of the Ustaše regime, was denied entry into Croatia, according to media reports.

“The student group, intending to visit the Jasenovac Memorial, pay their respects with flowers, and light candles for their fallen ancestors, was blocked by Croatian authorities—apparently for no other reason than the fact that they came from Serbia and refused to forget the innocent victims from their nation,” the report states.

Due to the lack of response from the international community, the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” reached out to Israeli historian and director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Jerusalem, Efraim Zuroff, for his perspective.

Watch an excerpt of our conversation with the globally recognized “Nazi hunter” as he shares his thoughts on the Croatian government’s decision to bar the Serbian student delegation from entering Jasenovac.
