Vucic stated today that Serbia will remain stable and peaceful despite the recent release of video footage allegedly revealing plans for violence on Vidovdan. He assured citizens there is no need for concern, except for those who are planning to carry out such actions.

“I understand that many people are worried. It seems the entire nation was watching that broadcast—it’s been a long time since something attracted that much attention. But the institutions will respond. Serbia will stay calm and secure, and the public can feel safe. The only ones who should be nervous are those who think violence is a solution,” said Vucic.

After opening the International Student Forum “Freedom and Sovereignty of Nations in the 21st Century,” he answered a journalist’s question about the footage that aired on multiple TV stations. The video allegedly shows a member of the Kraljevo assembly, affiliated with the opposition group “Novo Lice Srbije,” speaking about Saturday’s plans and referencing “Ćacilend.” That individual, identified as I.M., was arrested.

Vucic emphasized that authorities will act accordingly and highlighted that the most important task is to prevent any escalation. He noted that the central theme among those planning protests always ends in violence—whether through occupying public spaces, damaging institutions, or blocking infrastructure.

He also addressed the fact that I.M. was found with a gun that had its serial number removed. According to him, such a weapon is not carried for protection but for committing serious crimes. He said this confirms everything the authorities had been warning about, arguing that those behind the protests are not concerned with justice, but are pursuing politically motivated disorder.

He pointed out similar cases in other countries where tragic events didn’t provoke mass protests. But in Serbia, he said, the situation is different due to foreign funding and political manipulation.

Vucic declared that any attempts to instigate unrest have failed and expressed hope that the state won’t be forced to intervene on Saturday. Still, he warned that responsibility will follow for those who, as he put it, committed wrongdoings against the country.

When asked about claims from certain media outlets defending I.M. by alleging that the weapon was planted, Vucic dismissed them. He said such accusations are disgraceful and reflect a complete lack of integrity. According to him, the police were surprised when they discovered the weapon, as they were initially acting based on other recorded evidence.

He concluded by saying that some people have clearly lost all sense of moral boundaries and continue to push falsehoods without shame.
