Student protesters in Kraljevo began blocking traffic at four key intersections this morning at 8 a.m., announcing that the protest will last for 16 hours—until midnight. As a result, the wider city center has been closed to vehicle traffic for the entire day.
The blocked intersections include those near the old bridge over the Ibar River, the Auto-Moto Society, the small market, and the Glavcic bridge—also known as the new bridge over the Ibar.
At each of the four locations, banners with individual student demands have been displayed, according to local media reports.
The protest has drawn participation from a group of bikers and tractor drivers, as well as student demonstrators who arrived in Kraljevo last night from Arandelovac, Uzice, Valjevo, Pozega, and Cacak.
Traffic police are on the scene managing vehicle flow and ensuring public safety during the protest.
