President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, along with a Serbian delegation, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his team in Moscow. Following the meeting, President Vucic addressed the public.

“I fought for Serbia—for the arrival of more investors to our country. I asked for more,” said Vucic.

“President Xi said several important things, meaningful to those who listen to the great leader of China with attention and patience. He spoke of a time of major global change and described Serbia-China relations as exceptional, calling us ‘ironclad friends’. He expressed his wish to deepen our ties in three key areas—this means a higher level of cooperation, including annual meetings between the two presidents,” Vucic explained.

The second area, he noted, is mutual support.

“President Xi told me, ‘If you ever need anything, just ask us.’ He especially mentioned my role, as well as the role of the SNS (Serbian Progressive Party), saying it’s a stabilizing force and a key to Serbia’s future. He praised our policy of independence, saying it has brought many benefits to the country,” Vucic said.

As for the third direction in which cooperation should grow, Vucic emphasized the importance of mutually beneficial collaboration—especially through existing mechanisms like the free trade agreement, which has already produced strong results.

“We are building a shared future between China and Serbia, and we’ve had a strong start with visible achievements. Today, the world is undergoing profound changes and facing many risks. It’s essential that we support this strategic friendship,” said Xi Jinping.

President Vucic expressed how honored he felt by the opportunity to speak with President Xi.

“There are few true friends of Serbia—those who have always stood by us without ever asking for anything in return. I didn’t come here to ask for favors. I came to say a heartfelt thank you—and to let you know that I believe we’ve successfully resisted the color revolution that was orchestrated from abroad in an attempt to overthrow Serbia’s leadership,” Vucic said.

He also thanked China for its ongoing support.

“Thank you as well for confirming your participation in EXPO 2027. We would kindly ask for as strong a presence from China as possible that year in Serbia. All infrastructure projects are progressing well,” he said.

“Thank you for every form of political support. For us, there is only one principle—the principle of China!” Vucic concluded.
