Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the residents of Liman who protested after SNS activists painted the facades of their buildings in the colors of the Serbian flag, stating that “they are bothered by the Serbian tricolor.”

“The patriots have again restored that red, blue, and white symbol. After they painted it, they came back a few minutes later and finished their work. And as you can see, people are no longer afraid of them — before, they used to attack and do all kinds of things, but now nobody fears them,” Vucic said.

He added that “some people are disturbed by the colors of their country’s flag.”

“They could not tolerate the red-blue-white colors on the buildings in Liman — cleanly and neatly painted. So, it was restored to the state it was before. They couldn’t stand it for even an hour; they showed up again and started painting over it with something ugly. Nothing bothered them. For them, the Serbian flag, the Serbian tricolor, is like a red scarf in a bullfight. Nothing else provokes them, nothing else angers them, and nothing do they hate as much as the Serbian tricolor,” the president of all Serbian citizens explained.

To recall, the residents initially repainted over graffiti and parts of facades where, four years ago overnight, Serbian tricolors were painted.

Then this morning, SNS activists led by directors of certain public enterprises once again painted the tricolors.

The counteraction came from groups who repainted some facades white. Between repainting, there were paint splashes, verbal clashes, and one physical altercation.
