Today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic arrived in Geneva to take part in the 70th anniversary celebrations of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN. The event was attended by several world leaders, scientists, and Serbian researchers from CERN.
CERN, the world’s largest research center dedicated to studying elementary particles, was founded in 1954. The organization has 24 member states and maintains cooperative relations with 38 countries.
Serbia recently strengthened its ties with CERN, allowing it to join the global network for particle physics computing. This move is crucial in advancing Serbia’s position in the world of information technology.
Leveraging global resources through extensive collaboration in CERN’s Large Hadron Collider activities and related technologies has processed significant benefits in computing, medical technology, energy, and more.
CERN is famous for its massive underground facility housing a unique particle accelerator that explores the fundamental particles of the universe. The facility will soon be upgraded with another powerful particle accelerator, expected to lead to numerous scientific breakthroughs due to increased particle collisions.
