The U.S. government has released approximately 10,000 pages of documentation related to the 1968 assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, continuing the declassification process ordered by President Donald Trump.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabard stated that the release of these files will “finally shed long-awaited light on the truth.”
“Nearly 60 years after the tragic assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, the American people will, for the first time, have the opportunity to reevaluate the federal government’s investigation, thanks to President Trump’s leadership,” Gabard wrote.
The National Archives and Records Administration published around 229 files containing these documents on its official website.
Earlier in January, President Trump signed an executive order to declassify the remaining federal records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The U.S. government began releasing previously classified files concerning the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas starting in mid-March.
