During the panel discussion titled “New Alliance Talks – Responsible and Circular Battery Supply Chain,” President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic spoke of Serbia’s dedication towards nation building and addressing global concerns like sustainable sourcing and disposal of batteries. Later on, while the discussion revolved around some issues intrinsic to the battery industry such as mining, and mineral supply chain, Vucic gave hope for the tomorrows.

“This alliance is not only about mining; it’s about creating a sustainable world for everybody. Creating and providing key materials is important, not only for countries like Germany and Serbia, but for all countries,” Vucic shared in his Instagram post.

Moreover, he appeared to minimize political discussions, attaching more importance to the economic ones as to the development of a ‘stable’ tomorrow and looked forward having economic connections not only with Germany but a wider circle of foreign countries.

“Serbia is committed to building relations not only on an economic level but also a political and social one. This includes our partners in Zambia and Africa as a whole. We trust that our German friends will be able to stand by us in the common cause of tackling challenges that lie ahead,” stressed Vucic.

On the one hand Vucic was quite optimistic blaming for instance the energy crisis on interdependences of global players and suggested that action has to be taken in response to current and future problems. “Let’s look ahead—together, we can cope with any difficulty,” he said in conclusion, also thanking the hosts for their courtesy and restating Serbia’s preparedness to help in future.
