The trial of Milun Milenkovic, Dejan Pantic, Aleksandar Vlajic, and Miomir Vakic continued at the special division of the district court in Pristina. These individuals are accused of terrorism in northern Kosovska Mitrovica at the end of 2022. The next court session is set for November 27.
Defense witness Dr. Danijela Sokovic, a physician from the local health center in Kosovska Mitrovica, testified today. She was present at the incident scene.
Predrag Miljkovic, Milun Milenković’s lawyer, reported after the hearing that Dr. Sokovic provided a detailed account of their reasons for being at the scene and what they encountered.
“We want to show that neither Milun Milenković nor anyone else, as the prosecution alleges, took any explosives from an ambulance or used them against the buildings of the Municipal Election Commission,” Miljkovic emphasized.
Miljković also expressed concerns about procedural fairness. “The defense objected because the prosecutor introduced new evidence and witnesses after the indictment. I requested the court to clarify if the prosecution can keep adding new witnesses and evidence after the indictment, without providing specific reasons. We’ll see how the court handles the prosecutor’s new evidence,” he stated.
The continuation of the trial is scheduled for November 27. Two witnesses from the prosecution, who testified earlier, failed to identify the accused.
Currently, Milun Milenkovic and Aleksandar Vlajic are detained, while Dejan Pantic and Miomir Vakic are defending from liberty.
The charges against them allege that, along with others, they conducted a terrorist attack at the municipal election commission’s office on December 6, 2022. They reportedly threw two hand grenades and two shock bombs at the office, causing significant damage and endangering lives.
