Azem Vlasi, an attorney and former political representative of Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija, thinks Pristina should keep insisting that Serbia remove Kosovo and Metohija from its Constitution.

Vlasi, discussing the Serbian Government’s recent approval of the Bill on the Organization and Jurisdiction of Judicial Bodies for prosecuting crimes in Kosovo and Metohija, stated that the bill is based on Kosovo and Metohija being considered part of Serbia according to the Serbian Constitution.

He described the bill as “ridiculous.”

“They (Serbia) start from the assumption that Kosovo and Metohija still appears in the Serbian Constitution as part of it… considering it their province,” he told Teve1.

On October 28, the Serbian Government approved the Bill declaring Kosovo and Metohija a special social protection area and the Bill on the Organization and Jurisdiction of Judicial Bodies in the Prosecution of Criminal Offenses Committed on the Territory of Kosovo and Metohija.

This legislation regulates how Serbian judicial bodies and their special units for criminal prosecution and trials operate for crimes committed in Kosovo and Metohija, aiming to protect basic human rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Serbian Constitution and international documents.
