A 21-year-old man has killed eight people and injured 17 others in a knife attack at a university campus in eastern China.

Local police confirmed that the suspect was arrested at the Wuxi University of Arts and Technology. According to authorities, the young man had recently graduated and was reportedly frustrated after not receiving his graduation certificate or internship compensation.

“The suspect admitted to the crime without hesitation,” the police statement said.

This tragic event is the latest in a series of deadly incidents across China.

Earlier on November 12, 35 people lost their lives and over 40 were injured when an SUV drove into a group of people exercising near a stadium in the city of Zhuhai. The 62-year-old driver, identified only as Fan, allegedly targeted the crowd in what police described as a deliberate and malicious attack.
