The opposition has once again caused public outrage by blocking the access road to Belgrade Waterfront.

The protest, led by Zoran Lutovac, Dejan Atanackovic (known for his stance on Kosovo’s independence), Djordje Miketic (embroiled in controversy over past allegations), and Vladimir Stimac, a council member in Milos Jovanovic’s party, sparked frustration among citizens.

Angry residents reacted strongly, dispersing the group with loud protests and shouting.

“Why Are You Harassing Us?”
“Why Do You Exploit Tragedies?”

After the horrific tragedy in Novi Sad, where 15 people tragically lost their lives when a canopy collapsed at the train station, the opposition chose to organize protests and call for violence on the streets of the city.

The protest quickly escalated into chaos, with acts of destruction marking the event. The City Hall was damaged, windows and doors were broken, flares were thrown, and the building, a cultural monument, was covered in paint and even human waste.

In addition to the violence, opposition leaders also clashed with police officers who were on duty that evening, remaining calm and restrained despite the provocation.

The opposition then attempted to move the protest to Belgrade, but this effort failed miserably, drawing only a small crowd. The public made it clear they disapproved of the politicization of the tragedy, but this hasn’t stopped the opposition from continuing their orchestrated attempts to destabilize Novi Sad daily.
