N1 journalist Zaklina Tatalovic has come under scrutiny for claiming that Goran Jesic did not attack a police officer during the recent protests in Novi Sad, as reported by Novosti.
In her defense of Jesic, Tatalovic stated: “Goran Jesic was detained for over 20 days because he was helping a young man named Relja. We all saw this live on N1!”
However, the video aired on N1 paints a different picture. The footage shows two plainclothes police officers apprehending an opposition activist accused of attacking a police officer. As one officer reaches for his badge to identify himself, Jesic aggressively intervenes, confronting the officers. Despite their explanation that they were law enforcement and were detaining the activist for assault, Jesic persisted. Only after displaying their official IDs did the officers detain Jesic for his actions.
This incident has sparked further debate over the accuracy of media narratives and Jesic’s role in the escalating protests.
