The Director of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Arno Gujon, reminded the newly appointed European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo and Metohija (KiM), Riho Terras, about the violations of basic human rights faced by the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija through a post on the social network “X.”
In his post, written in English, Gujon shared key facts about the ongoing dire situation in the southern Serbian province. He emphasized that this is not Serbian propaganda, as extremists in Pristina might try to claim, but rather information from the official UNMIK report on Kosovo, recently published.
Dear Mr.@RihoTerras , since you have been appointed European Parliament Rapporteur for Kosovo* here are a few facts regarding the region you will be reporting about. Bellow you can find the facts which are not the Serbian propaganda as the extremist in Priština will tell you but… pic.twitter.com/Js6ccvtKiX

Gujon highlighted the most critical points from the UNMIK report, including severe discrimination, ethnically motivated attacks, institutional violence, and systematic violations of fundamental human rights in areas such as education, healthcare, administration, judiciary, religious issues, and other essential aspects of life for the survival of the Serbian population in KiM.
Riho Terras, an Estonian Member of the European Parliament (MEP), is a general and former commander of the Estonian military. He replaced German MEP Viola von Cramon, who had served as the European Parliament’s rapporteur for KiM since 2019.
