The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade proposed detention today for a 36-year-old man suspected of unlawfully storing 40 kilograms of cannabis for sale in the basement of a building in the Vracar municipality.
According to a statement from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, the suspect was questioned at the prosecutor’s office, where he provided a defense. Following this, the prosecutor’s office recommended to the pretrial judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade that the suspect be detained to prevent a repeat offense in a short period.
There is probable cause to suspect that on October 6 of this year, the man unlawfully held 40,005.60 grams of cannabis for sale in the basement of a building in Vracar. The cannabis was packaged in two cardboard boxes containing 20 larger plastic bags with dried parts of the plant.
Additionally, in another building, in an apartment where he was residing unregistered, he allegedly kept a small plastic bag with 6.45 grams of cocaine in the kitchen refrigerator.
An investigation order has been issued, charging the suspect with the criminal offense of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics.
