Ana Brnabic, the Speaker of Serbia’s Parliament, has publicly condemned opposition-linked media outlets for allegedly minimizing the seriousness of a recent incident involving Foreign Minister Marko Djuric.
“Solak’s media channels are: (1) dishonest, (2) hypocritical, and (3) directly fueling the culture of violence in our country,” Brnabic stated online.
Referring to the situation involving Djuric, she explained:
“Marko was targeted in front of his young daughters. Still, media outlets aligned with Solak rushed to claim there was no attack, suggesting instead that he was merely called a ‘thief and traitor’ — all of this in front of his three daughters, ages 9, 8, and 5. Unbelievable.”
Brnabic accused these media outlets of double standards:
“When people call out N1 or Nova journalists using similar language, it’s immediately portrayed as a vicious assault, with public condemnation following. But when the same insults are hurled at Marko Djuric in the presence of his children, it’s dismissed?”
She posed a stark question:
“Are Djuric and his family not entitled to the same dignity and protections claimed by journalists at N1 and Nova? Is this the version of Serbia that Solak and the opposition are promoting?”
Brnabic concluded her message by branding their behavior as deeply hypocritical and expressed her strong support for Djuric and his loved ones.
