Near the EPS resort, close to the Grand Hotel in Kopaonik, unknown individuals detonated explosives on a rock at around 5 p.m. According to unofficial reports from N1, the blast sent stones flying in all directions, damaging multiple cars.
Witnesses near the Grand Hotel told N1 that rocks “the size of a child’s head” were hurled through the air, and that it was only by sheer luck no one was injured.
“There was an explosion — hundreds of people were here. Suddenly, stones started falling from the sky. I was sitting in the Grand Hotel, and rocks even landed in the hotel pool where guests were swimming. People began screaming and running in panic. The police came but said they were only traffic officers. At the construction site where the blast occurred, there’s now no one,” one witness told.
Many hotel guests rushed outside in their bathrobes. Around 20 cars were damaged, and police arrived at the scene about an hour later.
Some building facades were also damaged, and debris reached as far as the “Sports Valley” area.
People whose vehicles were destroyed said they did not receive any official confirmation from the police regarding the damage.
