China Won’t Provoke Me If I Return to the White House Because They Know I’m Crazy,” Says Trump
Former U.S. President Donald Trump of the stated that because President Xi Jinping knows he is “crazy,” China wouldn’t dare to provoke him.
During a conversation with the Wall Street Journal, Trump said that if re-elected in November, he would impose tariffs on Beijing in response to any blockade of Taiwan.
Trump asserted that he wouldn’t need to use military force to prevent the blockade of the island, because “Xi knows that I am crazy.”
“I had a very good, really good relationship with him. I don’t want to say we were friends, but I got along very well with him,” Trump said about Xi.
The former U.S. president also praised his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, mentioning that they “got along great,” as reported by BBC.
He added that he had warned Putin many times against invading Ukraine.
“I told him ‘You will be hit so hard, I’ll knock those domes off your head.’ Because, you know, he lives under those domes,” Trump told the WSJ.
With promises to initiate trade wars and end U.S. involvement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Trump has branded his foreign policy as “America First,” which critics describe as isolationist.
