At today’s session of the Serbian Parliament, Miloš Parandilović, a member of Aleksić’s political party, made a controversial statement that has been widely interpreted as an insult to the People’s Republic of China.

During a heated debate, Parandilović accused the government of “poisoning the country” by allowing the opening of “Chinese tire factories that they themselves wouldn’t allow in their own country.”

His remarks quickly drew criticism for being diplomatically insensitive, especially given Serbia’s close political and economic ties with China.
