Accused foreign nationals Bernard C. and Gianfranco V. have reached agreements with the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, admitting to the criminal act of inciting national, racial, and religious hatred and intolerance. Based on these agreements, the Higher Court in Belgrade has handed down guilty verdicts.
Gianfranco V. was sentenced to a one-year suspended prison sentence with a probation period of three years, while Bernard C. received a six-month suspended prison sentence with a probation period of two years, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Both defendants were also sentenced to a security measure of deportation from the country for a period of 10 years, in accordance with the agreement on admitting the crime.
In addition, Gianfranco V. had his mobile phone, a “Google” brand, confiscated as a security measure.
Bernard C. aided in the commission of the crime by photographing Gianfranco V. with his mobile phone in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on November 2 of this year, while Gianfranco V. was making a double-headed eagle gesture with his hands, alluding to the symbol of “Greater Albania.”
Bernard C. holds citizenship from both the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Croatia, while Gianfranco V. is a citizen of the Swiss Confederation.
