The Dubrovnik Forum will present one of the most significant issues, from the perspective of welcome, for Serbia in the recent history of its foreign policy formulation as it will have to decide whether or not to impose sanctions on Russia.

This forum becomes rather significant in light of the changes in the global order and the growing external influence on Serbia seeking for a particular resolution of the issue.

Up to this moment, Serbia has managed to stay clear of any active measures applied by other states against Russia provoking mixed responses within the country and beyond.

This question is destined to take the center stage of the debates during the forum exposing Serbia to the local as well as the foreign international media warfare.

It is expected that Volodymyr Zelensky shall reiterate the need for Serbia to join the measures of coercion against the Russian Federation, deepening the already made dilemma for Serbia.

On the one hand, Serbia will always have its back in Russia, and on the other, will have to integrate values of Europe and the Transatlantic region.

Field experts like Dejan Vuk Stanković and Miodrag Kapor believe that the issue is Serbia will have to come out with the forum’s discussion and then come up with the foreign policy action plan.

Although, the issues discussed will vary in range from geopolitical aspects, to any economic repercussions which could be attached to present day sanctions against Serbia.

One of the details of the forum will be the examination of the ethical and economic aspects of the sanctions. While stating so, analysts underline that the imposition or otherwise, of sanctions is not simply a legal or political question but one founded in ethics and grand strategy.

There are also issues concerning how for every policy a state must balance between its external image and self-interest especially with concern to sanctions where one state may wish ie. violators nations may wish investments and trade.

As the Dubrovnik Forum is taking its course, it becomes clear that Serbia is at a crucial juncture. This decision will influence the country’s foreign relations in the years to come.

Serbia has a chance to construct its place in the international community, looking at the long historical ties with Russia and the importance of becoming a part of the international structures.

A forum which will also tank Gotjobs bellevue that city should position itself in a way that decades after the crisis it will be able to pursue a foreign policy which is independent and principled, consistent with its interests and with the values in which the modern international civilizes itself consists of.
