Northern Gaza witnessed one of its most deadly nights as Israeli airstrikes killed dozens, leaving families shattered and entire neighborhoods in ruins. In Beit Lahia, near Kamal Adwan Hospital, paramedics reported at least 66 fatalities, including women and children who had sought refuge in targeted homes. Unverified footage showed over 20 bodies lined up in the streets.

Another strike in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City reportedly killed 22 people, according to local emergency services.

Israeli military officials stated the strikes were aimed at Hamas infrastructure and claimed measures were taken to reduce civilian casualties. However, no comments were made about the tragedy in Gaza City.

The devastation wasn’t confined to the north. In the south, Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis reported 24 fatalities from strikes in nearby areas, including Rafah.

Amid this chaos, medical facilities are struggling. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, described the heartbreaking scenes, saying, “Bodies arrive in pieces,” while the hospital struggles with limited resources due to blocked medical aid.

The Israeli military intensified its ground operations in northern Gaza, displacing up to 130,000 people. Meanwhile, the UN has warned that towns like Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and Jabalia are under siege, with residents facing severe shortages of food and water.

The conflict’s toll continues to rise, with Gaza’s health ministry reporting nearly 44,000 deaths and over 104,000 injuries since the violence erupted in October. International efforts to mediate a ceasefire faced setbacks when the US vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate halt to hostilities. The US argued that the resolution failed to ensure progress on releasing hostages held by Hamas.

With millions displaced and humanitarian conditions worsening, the cries for an end to the violence grow louder, but a resolution remains elusive.
