According to the Cacak Police Department, reports indicate the arrest of Slobodan Stankovic, also known as ‘Pribojac,’ in his hometown of Viljusa. His parents’ house had been converted into a drug lab with an active marijuana growing operation. So far, the police have seized 90 kg of the finished product.
Stankovic, a participant in the so-called Cacak eco-protests, has been exposed as a civil offender with multiple convictions and offenses, including attacks on public safety.
However, many of the local politicians, especially from the opposition, have distanced themselves from Stankovic even to a greater extent, some even going as far as stating that it is annoying to work with a political criminal.
This arrest raises questions on why some people choose to hold certain protests for selfish purposes and what exactly their motives are considering they are up to some sort of illegal dealings. The government at this point is called to step up the measures to prevent and punish such activities going forward.
