The Israeli military today bombed the home of Dr. Ale al-Najjar, killing nine of her ten children and severely injuring her husband and one surviving child, according to the hospital in Khan Younis where she works.
British surgeon Graham Groom, who also works at the hospital, told the BBC he operated on the surviving 11-year-old boy.
A video shared by the director of the Ministry of Health, and verified by the BBC, shows the charred bodies of young children being pulled from the rubble.
The Israeli military confirmed it had conducted an airstrike targeting “multiple suspects” in Khan Younis and stated that “claims of civilian casualties are under review.”
Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that at least 74 civilians were killed in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours.
The family home was struck just minutes after Dr. al-Najjar’s husband returned from dropping her off at work. The oldest of the children was 12; the youngest just three. The bodies of a seven-month-old baby and a two-year-old remain buried under the debris.
