Authorities in Minnesota reported a tragic sequence of events in Duluth, where a man, identified as 46-year-old Anthony Nephew, fatally shot four family members before taking his own life.
According to Duluth Police Chief Mike Ceynowa, Nephew had a “history of mental health issues,” although the motive behind the violent attack remains unclear.

The incident happened on Thursday afternoon when officers responded to a call shortly after 2 p.m. at a residence where they discovered the bodies of Erin Abramson, 47, and her 15-year-old son, Jacob Nephew. Erin Abramson was previously in a relationship with Anthony Nephew, Ceynowa confirmed.
Later that day, after identifying Anthony Nephew as the primary suspect, police located and entered his residence, where they found the bodies of Nephew, his 45-year-old wife Kathryn Nephew, and their 7-year-old son, Oliver Nephew. Investigators believe that after committing the murders, Anthony Nephew died by suicide.
This tragedy has deeply shaken Duluth, a northern Minnesota city of nearly 90,000 residents located around 135 miles from Minneapolis.
