On October 19 in Belgrade, Serbia and the Kingdom of Eswatini exchanged six memorandums of understanding across various sectors, the Government of Serbia announced.

In the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and King Mswati III of Eswatini, the documents were exchanged.

Previously, Vucic hosted an official welcome for the leader of Eswatini, a kingdom located in southern Africa, which was followed by a private meeting.

The memorandums of cooperation include trade and investments, higher education, tourism, information technology and artificial intelligence, postal services, and digital skills, alongside collaboration between the Novi Sad Science and Technology Park and the Royal Science and Technology Park of Eswatini.

Additionally, Vucic and Mswati took part in a roundtable in Belgrade entitled “Serbia and Eswatini – Innovation as a Driver of Growth.”

King Mswati III, who arrived in Serbia on Friday, October 18, will remain until Tuesday, October 22.

Mswati III stated that Eswatini wishes to work with Serbia on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding cooperation in trade, agriculture, information and communication technologies, tourism, and security.

“The cooperation between the two sides has been strengthened by support in the international arena. We have reiterated our mutual commitment to support issues of importance,” said the King of Eswatini after the meeting with Vucic.

Political relations between Serbia and Eswatini have been strengthened over the last three years, with several high-level meetings held.

Eswatini recognized Kosovo in April 2010, but in January 2023, Vučić announced that nine countries, including Eswatini, had withdrawn their recognition of Kosovo’s independence.
