The Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Information and Telecommunications has successfully managed to advance the objectives of its National Contact Center for Child Online Safety that has been organizing a number of outreach activities throughout the country in the month of September.
Ten programs in total were realized, covering primary and sports schools with participation of approximately 500 children, 50 librarians, 36 coaches, and almost 200 parents.
But the next important dimension of the month was also the participation of the team in the 13th edition of the Sports Fair, which aimed to promote and sensitize people on topics of digital security with the slogan “SPORT IS LIFE – LIFE IS SPORT.”
At the fair, the participants were warned about the risks associated with the virtual world and what steps to take in order to mitigate such risks.
Furthermore, the achievement was marked with the “Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Child Safety and Protection in the Use of Information and Communication Technologies” concluded with the Library Association of Serbia.
This agreement was reached during a meeting in ‘Vuk Karadžić’ primary school in Stepojevac, demonstrating the expansion of the collaboration.
The Ministry with the National Contact Center will undertake other measures geared towards educating the youth and promoting digital security in Serbia, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring safe cyberspace for all the citizens of Serbia.
