Dozens of inmates escaped from Malir Prison in the Pakistani city of Karachi last night, local officials confirmed.

The jailbreak occurred following a series of earthquakes that caused panic among prisoners, according to a report by Reuters.

Authorities stated that 46 escapees have been recaptured so far, but did not disclose the exact number of those who fled. They described the incident as one of the largest prison breaks in Pakistan’s history.
