Since the opening of polling stations in Zajecar this morning at 7:00 AM, there have been no incidents at any of the 69 polling stations that would jeopardize the electoral process, according to the Zajecar Police Department.
“In some polling stations in the municipality of Kosjeric, there were attempts to unlawfully block access and disrupt the voting process, but those were resolved in accordance with the law. At all other locations in Kosjeric, the elections are proceeding without incident,” stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
Police officers from the Kosjeric Police Station are acting on a report from the president of the electoral commission at polling station no. 22 in the village of Drmanovina. According to the report, observer Veselin Ristanovic, representing the list “United for Kosjeric,” allegedly tore up the list of voters designated for home voting. Police intervention is ongoing.
Officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Zajecar and Uzice are taking all necessary actions within their jurisdiction to ensure the elections are peaceful and that every citizen is able to exercise their voting rights, the MUP added.
