Shortly before 12:00, a tragic accident occurred at the Novi Sad railway station construction site, with initial reports suggesting large umber of fatalities and voonded.
According to sn.rs reporter on the scene, the death toll has risen to nine, and more than 20 people have been injured, among the injured are also children and elderly people. The accident happened when the canopy above the entrance doors at the railway station collapsed.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as “exploding like a bomb.”
“We work in the building across from the railway station. When it fell, our building literally shook,” a source told Dnevnik.
A large number of emergency services are on-site, along with heavy machinery, which has begun working at the scene.
