Goran Jesic, a former Democratic Party official previously known for clashing with police during protests in Novi Sad, joined the latest unrest outside the city’s assembly building. Today’s events, fueled by opposition activists, appear to be just the beginning of their plan.

The opposition has announced intentions to take over City Hall.

“We’ll give them another 5–10 minutes to finish, and then our councilors will stay here. Watch the media for our next move. We’re taking back what’s ours—our house will belong to us and our representatives. There will be no police, no cartels, and no SNS stronghold,” Jesic told the gathered supporters, signaling an escalation in the confrontation.
