President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic issued a statement on the social media platform X, expressing deep sorrow over the passing of the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis.

“I received the news of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis with great sadness. The world has lost an extraordinary spiritual leader who, through his apostolic work, spread love, peace, and solidarity. His efforts to strengthen interfaith dialogue and his dedication to humanism have left an indelible mark on history,” Vucic wrote.

“Pope Francis was a messenger of hope and reconciliation, always standing with the most vulnerable. His loss is a moment of grief for us all.

On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia and in my own name, I extend my deepest condolences to the Roman Catholic Church and to all believers around the world.

His life, devoted to faith, love, and service to others, will remain a lasting source of inspiration.

May he rest in eternal glory,” the Serbian president stated.
