Prime Minister Djuro Macut has strongly condemned the attack on Mihailo Vucevic, son of Milos Vucevic, the advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia for regional affairs.
Macut emphasized that there is no place in a democratic society for manipulations based on unverified information and spreading falsehoods.
He stated his condemnation of all forms of hate speech and defamatory statements targeted at individuals, especially when such attacks are based on personal, family, or political connections.
“The attack on Mihailo Vucevic is not only a personal assault — it is also an attack on the former Prime Minister and current advisor to the President of the Republic, Mr. Milos Vucevic. These attacks take on a particularly malicious character given that this is a person who is a patriot, who loves his country and has dedicated his work to its progress,” said the Prime Minister.
According to Macut, nothing is worse in a society than to attack someone’s children with political undertones, an act that transcends political differences and strikes at the very foundations of human dignity.
“In a democratic society, there is no room for manipulations based on unverified facts and falsehoods. Such behavior undermines public trust, polarizes society, and causes irreparable harm to public discourse,” the Prime Minister stressed.
Macut called on all public figures, media, and citizens to refrain from baseless accusations and hate speech, and to contribute to building a political culture based on facts, arguments, and mutual respect.
Earlier today, Novi Sad City Assembly member Misa Baculov accused SNS supporters, led by the son of the party president, Milos Vucevic, of allegedly throwing paint at Baculov’s neighbor’s house, claiming that “the paint was meant for him,” in an Instagram post.
