The body of 72-year-old Mile M. from Apatin, who was reported missing on September 28, was found today in the Danube, a few hundred meters downstream from the former fishing station in Apatin.

A fisherman discovered the body in an area known as Lovrin’s Bay.

Mile lived with his sister and brother-in-law and did not have a family of his own. He took daily walks by the Danube.

After the investigation at the scene, the man’s body will be sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Novi Sad for an autopsy.

The exact circumstances surrounding his drowning will be determined by the investigation.
