Serbian Economy Minister Andrijana Mesarovic has launched a fierce condemnation of what she describes as an “orchestrated campaign” against President Aleksandar Vucic in certain media outlets, following health concerns that prompted his early return from a US visit.
In an Instagram post, Mesarovic accused opposition-aligned media of spreading “deranged conspiracy theories and hate” for three consecutive days, targeting the president’s health condition. She singled out opposition figures including Djilas, Aleksic, Manojlovic, Milivojevic and Mihailovic, claiming their only unifying trait is “not just sick hatred, but a sick desire to harm President Vucic.”
“The fact that the president needed medical rest became their opportunity to attack with lies, having no real arguments,” Mesarovic wrote. She alleged opposition leaders see Vucic’s temporary recovery period as their chance to “gain power and access public funds without elections,” while continuing what she called years-long efforts to “dehumanize the Vucic family.”
The minister questioned why Serbia tolerates such “freedom for lies and hate speech,” asking “Do any limits exist?” She dismissed the critics as “arrogant, lying opposition losers” who spread falsehoods “without a shred of decency,” while asserting their attacks would only make Vucic “stronger and more determined to fight for Serbia’s future.”
