Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Ana Brnabic declared that hatred will never prevail in Serbia, criticizing the arrival of a group of around 300 to 400 people outside the home of her brother and his family.

“My brother is not the first to experience something like this. He is not a public official, and the only reason he’s targeted is because he’s my brother. Similar harassment happened to Zarko Micin, Marko Djuric, and others who had to explain such events to their families. This is the face of the blockade movement in Serbia — a campaign of intimidation, hatred, and violence,” Brnabic told Informer.

According to her, going to people’s private residences, threatening their families, and ignoring the fact that children live there is something unseen in Serbia since World War II.

“They call their gatherings ‘assemblies,’ but in truth, they are reminiscent of fascist-style rallies that once served Nazi occupiers — going from house to house to frighten and bully people,” she said.

Brnabic argued this is part of a broader agenda to destabilize and weaken Serbia, where anything is considered fair game, including intimidating children and threatening relatives of political figures.

“Since they couldn’t attack me directly, they went after my family. I am proud to stand with President Aleksandar Vucic, and we will not be cowed by fascist tactics. Such methods have never succeeded in Serbia, and they won’t now,” she stated.

Asked if she spoke to her brother, Brnabic said she was in touch with him as soon as it became public that protesters planned to go to his home.

“My main concern was whether his young daughter, Ljubica, was home, and how this would be explained to her and how she would be kept safe,” she said.

Brnabic added that what made the incident even more disturbing was that it occurred on the anniversary of “Operation Storm,” when ethnic cleansing drove tens of thousands of Serbs from Croatia.

“This shows a new level of hypocrisy,” she remarked, adding that the silence from the EU amounts to tacit approval.

She also pointed out that the Croatian support for the blockade organizers is proof that this attempted ‘color revolution’ has foreign roots, is well-planned, intelligence-backed, and financially supported from abroad.
