Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held a telephone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss key regional matters and bilateral cooperation. The leaders exchanged views on Western Balkan issues and steps to strengthen mutual relations, including Italy’s confirmed participation in the upcoming EXPO exhibition.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Vucic described the talks as “cordial and constructive,” thanking Italy for its consistent support of Serbia’s EU integration process. He emphasized Serbia’s appreciation for Italy as one of its most important political and economic partners within the EU. Prime Minister Meloni reaffirmed Italy’s commitment to EU enlargement and continued support for Western Balkan countries on their European path.
Vucic noted with satisfaction that he extended an official invitation for Meloni to visit Serbia, which he said would be a great honor. The discussion also touched upon strategic partnership opportunities between the two nations.
