The leader of the Serbian Radical Party, Vojislav Seselj, stated today that the current political crisis in Serbia could be resolved through early parliamentary elections, adding that December would be the ideal time for such a vote.

Speaking on Pink TV, Seselj said that his party supports the idea of holding early elections and sees them as an opportunity to return to the National Assembly.

“This situation needs to be cleared up. In the elections, all these traitors will be defeated, and we Radicals believe this could be our chance to become a parliamentary party again. A National Assembly without Serbian Radicals is not a real one,” said Seselj.

On May 5, protesting students from across Serbia, speaking on behalf of demonstrators nationwide, demanded the scheduling of snap parliamentary elections.

President Aleksandar Vucic has said that he will agree to hold early elections once preparations for the international expo are completed.
