The Municipal Committee of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in Novi Beograd strongly condemns the act of vandalism against their premises, which occurred last night, November 5, around two o’clock after midnight.
“The premises of MO SNS Gazela, located at Milutina Milankovica 32, were vandalized last night by, as yet, unidentified perpetrators. Committee President Stevo Marusic and Coordinator Aleksandar Ciric immediately visited the location to assess the extent of the damage,” stated the SNS City Committee’s announcement.
They added that this is not the first time their offices have been targeted, which they claim indicates a continuous attempt to intimidate and destabilize the citizens of Novi Beograd, as well as the broader community.
“Damaged doors, part of the sidewalk marked with red paint, and a panel with party symbols – all these are the results of an ideology of hatred and violence promoted by the opposition through various so-called ‘peaceful performances,’ whose sole aim is the violent overthrow of the government. This act is yet another sign that the opposition resorts to violence as its primary method of political struggle, aware that they lack the people’s support. By these actions, the opposition vultures demonstrate that they are interested in victims, regardless of the misfortune, only to use them for political gain through stirring unrest and violence,” the statement emphasized.
They claim that “a faction of the opposition, led by Dragan Djilas, is behind these attacks, exploiting the recent tragedy in Novi Sad for personal political promotion.”
“Such actions are unacceptable and constitute an attack on democratic values and political pluralism in our country.”
They call on the authorities to respond urgently, identify, and prosecute those responsible for these acts to prevent the “further spread of violence and intolerance.” They add that they believe in the institutions of the state and expect justice to be served.
“This destructive behavior by the so-called opposition will not intimidate us. What empowers us in the SNS Municipal Committee of Novi Beograd is the citizens’ support for our party’s program and achievements, led by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic,” stated Stevo Marusic, President of the SNS Novi Beograd Municipal Committee.
