Sofija Jankovic, one of the student protesters from the Faculty of Architecture and a participant in the so-called “fake cycling trip” to Strasbourg, shared her reaction to a comment she read: “Our children in Europe are safer than our children in Serbia,” according to media reports.
“That really hit me,” she said. “We were truly safe during our journey, while at the same time, our colleagues in Belgrade were surrounded by a ring of police and gendarmerie trying to forcefully bring workers into RTS! That’s a threat of violence,” Jankovic stated, as quoted by the social media account “Detektor lazi” on platform X.

The same account added:
“In Serbia, the police didn’t even look at them harshly. But in the European Union, for far less than five months of blocking faculties, streets, and media… they would’ve been met with batons, water cannons, beatings, police horses, tear gas, and jail time.”
