The incident took place on the evening of November 11, 2024, in the center of Novi Pazar, when two older young men, one wearing a yellow jacket and the other in dark clothing, attacked a group of 12-year-old children who were sitting and eating in a restaurant.
Surveillance footage clearly shows the men chasing the children.
According to the children’s statements, which were reported to the Novi Pazar Police Department, the individual in the yellow jacket threatened them with a knife.
Unofficial sources suggest that the two men are brothers, known for their disruptive behavior, and are frequently seen near elementary schools. Their family background is troubled, with reports indicating that they were placed under guardianship due to their father’s inability to work as a result of mental health issues.
The police, the judiciary, the prosecutor’s office, and the social services are urged to take immediate and responsible action, as it is their duty to protect citizens, particularly children, from such threats. This case calls for a swift and serious investigation to assess the mental state of the perpetrators, who are reportedly known for their unstable behavior.
The parents of the children have expressed deep concern over the traumatic impact the incident has had on their kids.
“My child is now afraid to go to school. This event has shaken them deeply,” said one parent.
The residents of Novi Pazar are calling for answers and urgent action: “We expect the police, the judiciary, the prosecutor’s office, and social services to promptly evaluate the mental state of these individuals and take the necessary steps to ensure their control or potential treatment.”
