U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his feud with Elon Musk, stating today that he has no intention of mending their relationship and warning that the billionaire could face “serious consequences” if he decides to support Democrats in the upcoming elections.

In a phone interview with NBC, Trump made it clear that reconciliation with Musk is not on his agenda.

When asked whether he believes their relationship — once that of allies — is over, Trump responded, “I assume it is.”

“I’m too busy with other things. You know, I won the election by a wide margin. I gave him a lot of room, long before any of this happened. I gave him space during my first administration and basically saved his life. I have no intention of speaking with him,” Trump said.

He further noted that Musk might decide to support Democratic candidates during the 2026 midterm elections, which traditionally occur halfway through a president’s term.

“If he does that, he’ll have to face the consequences,” Trump warned, though he declined to elaborate on what those consequences might be. Musk’s companies currently hold numerous lucrative federal contracts.

According to the Associated Press, Trump’s comments suggest Musk may be transitioning from close ally to potential political target.

Trump is known for using the power of his office to confront critics and those he perceives as enemies. His latest remarks indicate that Musk’s businesses — including Tesla and SpaceX — could be at risk of retaliation.

Earlier today, Musk deleted several offensive posts from his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), including one that linked Trump to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
