The British Embassy in Serbia reported that Lady Karen Pierce, the UK’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, held talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic regarding the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
Pierce voiced her concern over the recent rise in tensions and stressed that remaining disputes should be resolved through negotiations under EU mediation.
In a statement posted on X, the embassy said the meeting took place on Wednesday, August 6. “Lady Karen Pierce met with President Vucic to discuss her concerns about the latest strains in Serbia-Kosovo relations and to highlight the importance of addressing unresolved issues through the EU-led dialogue,” the post said.
The two also exchanged views on political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Pierce noted that she is eager to welcome Serbia’s delegation to the Berlin Process summit, scheduled to be held in the UK this October.
