Milos Vucevic, leader of the SNS party and advisor to the President, stated today that tensions and hostility toward Serbs are visibly rising in Croatia as the anniversary of Operation Storm draws near.
Reacting to Croatian media reports claiming that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic celebrated with a so-called “Chetnik song,” Vucevic questioned why anyone would have an issue with a Serbian patriotic song like “The Guard of King Peter Marched,” especially when sung by Vucic himself.
“Immediately, the usual critics emerged through Croatian outlets – people obsessively fixated on President Vucic. Oddly enough, this didn’t bother the so-called ‘patriots’ funded by Solak. There’s still time for them to react. Let it be clear to all – we will continue fighting for Serbia’s freedom, with President Vucic leading the way,” Vucevic wrote on the social platform X.
He went on to say that what really hurts critics is the truth: it was Serbs who were killed and expelled, not the other way around.
“They can continue fueling their anger and hostility – it’s their typical approach as August approaches, the time when we remember the innocent victims of that criminal operation. The truth is what pains them. Vucic is the one who broke the silence about the ethnic cleansing and crimes committed against our people. We will never stop fighting for justice, for the truth, and for Serbia’s freedom – just as the song says,” Vucevic concluded.
