Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Norway’s outgoing special Western Balkans, Haakon Blankenborg, on Wednesday to discuss current issues and the broader regional situation.
In an Instagram post, Vucic wrote that he thanked Norway’s active engagement in the Western Balkans and its consistent support, particularly in economic development and infrastructure projects.
“I especially noted the significance of preserving stability through dialogue and economic cooperation, which remain the key factors for peace and progress in the region,” Vucic wrote.
He also mentioned that Belgrade truly values Norway’s backing for Serbia’s ongoing reforms, aimed at economic growth and the transition to sustainable energy solutions, as well as its help in addressing regional problems.
“At the meeting, I welcomed new special envoy Eirik Nestas Mathisen and expressed Serbia’s readiness to work even more vigorously on joint objectives such as stability, prosperity and sustainable development of the Western Balkans,” Vucic stated.
