President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has called on citizens to trust the country’s institutions, stating that the state “will choose the right moment to fully restore order.” He emphasized that maintaining peace and stability remains the top priority, despite what he referred to as “countless false accusations.”
In an interview with the Radio Television of Serbia, Vucic urged those who disagree with the government to engage in dialogue:
“I know it’s hard to talk. It’s hard to hear the truth. But we also want to hear your arguments – maybe even truths we haven’t yet learned,” he said.
Commenting on the preliminary results of local elections in the town of Kosjeric, Vucic described it as a traditionally difficult area for the ruling SNS party but said they achieved “a miraculous victory” under what he called extremely difficult conditions.
He also accused several media outlets, including RTS, N1, and Nova S, of creating a “terrifying atmosphere of lynching” and claimed they either justified or ignored the violence allegedly directed toward government supporters.
Regarding claims by the NGO CRTA about serious irregularities at 19% of polling stations in Zajecar, Vucic responded:
“If they want us to repeat the elections, let them say so. We would win even more convincingly,” he said, adding that CRTA is “part of a color revolution,” and the margin of victory in Zajecar is “so large that it could only grow.”
