The official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is in Serbia, began in the late evening hours when he was welcomed at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade by the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

“Welcome, my dear friend Erdogan, to Serbia. We have one more valid occasion to cement our brotherly relationships and the two states cooperation.”, Vucic posted on Twitter.

A number of important meetings will be held during the two-day visit of the president of Turkey, as Erdogan’s program in Belgrade places great attention towards the improvement of the joint projects with respect to the economy, culture, and politics.

A formal welcome ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow in front of the Palace of Serbia, after which there will be a meeting between the two presidents, and then the fourth session of the High Council for Cooperation of Serbia and Turkey.

New agreements are to be signed at 1 P.M. and will be followed by a joint session of the press. Later in the day, there is going to be organized a business forum with the presidents of both countries and some other participants.

This meeting is also dedicated to remembrance of the years of friendships between the two nations and how such strong and stable relations progressed in the past few years.

Since the previous Erdogan has been in Serbia in September 2022, his last visit to Serbia was nearly four years ago. It can also be mentioned that President Vucic has been to Turkey several times, the last one being in 2022, highlighting the cordial relations and mutual interests of the countries of Serbia and Turkey.
